You decide
whether to make Park Lane either your permanent home,
or for a short period of convalescence, or just to have
a break from your own home. You decide whether
you need just support with everyday tasks, or 24 hour
assistance or complete complex nursing. The care provided
is designed to build on your own strengths and wishes,
and constantly seeks to improve your quality of life.
Care Plan
A care plan is formed on arrival
along with an induction and introduction to the home. Residents
and their family or representatives are invited to participate
in developing care plans and attending any reviews held. Residents
and their representative may see care plans at all reasonable
times in arrangement with the Matron.
Once developed, the Care Plan will be reviewed regularly to
ensure that it is meeting the resident's needs. Family and relatives
will be encouraged to participate in residents' daily routine,
as far as is practicable. There are frequent "Friends and
Family" meetings in which you are invited to relay your
thoughts and, if any, complaints.
Our Staff
We provide a holistic, person-centred,
nursing and social care service in a well-maintained, homely
environment. This is supported in no small way by a dedicated
team. The care team consists of our qualified nurse on duty
(day and night), senior care, and our health care assistants.
A high percentage of our care staff have achieved or currently
undertaking NVQ's. The Housekeeping department keeps our home
clean and tidy, and our resident's with fresh laundry.
Activities
Stimulating activities are
organized on both a weekly and daily basis and at all times
being respectful of your wishes and your privacy. The diary
of events and outings are posted on our activities board. There
are weekly multi-denominational Church services and a variety
of singers and musicians visiting the home.
Cuisine
Food - always an
important area which we have given a great deal of thought
and time to. Our chefs specialise in the creation of varied
meals using, as far as possible, fresh produce, with a
made at home taste. Morning coffee and afternoon teas
are served on a daily basis and also at other times at
the request of a resident or visitor.

Pets As Therapy
®
Pets As Therapy
is a national charity now in its 25th year.
It is unique in that it provides temperament assessed/vaccinated
PAT Dogs and PAT Cats with registered volunteers to hospitals,
hospices, residential care homes, day centres, special
needs schools and many other establishments often providing
comfort, companionship and therapy.
At Park Lane we
have two registered PAT dogs that visit. According to
an increasing amount of research the significant positive
effect of Pets As Therapy visits on the profile of mood
states for residents in a care home setting.
